Two trumpets (5th and 6th) sound:
Fifth Trumpet
Sixth Trumpet
Yet Scripture says: People still did not repent.
Revelation 9 reveals:
Even darkness operates on a leash.
The abyss does not open without permission.
Revelation 9 teaches:
The most sobering line: “They did not repent.”
Judgment alone does not soften every heart.
Even here, Christ remains:
Darkness is loud. But it is not ultimate.
🎵 Revelation 9 — “The Abyss Opened”
(Majestic Pines — Hybrid | Songer Safe)
Verse 1
The fifth trumpet split the sky,
A fallen star with key held high.
The shaft of darkness opened wide,
Smoke like furnace billowed high.
From the smoke came locust swarms,
Not like earth’s, but shaped for war.
Faces like men, hair like flame,
Teeth of lions, torment’s name.
Pre-Chorus
Not to kill — but pain to bring,
Five months under scorpion sting.
Only those without His seal
Felt the torment they would feel.
Chorus
The abyss is opened wide,
Darkness crawling from inside.
Yet even hell moves by command —
Under heaven’s sovereign hand.
Verse 2
A king above them, angel dread,
Abaddon — destruction spread.
Apollyon in Greek proclaimed,
The destroyer’s title named.
Sixth trumpet — angels bound
At Euphrates now unbound.
Hour and day and month and year,
Prepared for judgment drawing near.
Chorus
Trumpets sound and armies ride,
Fire and smoke and sulfur tide.
Yet still mankind refused to turn,
Hearts like stone refused to burn.
Bridge
Two hundred million thundered on,
Breastplates blazing crimson dawn.
Plagues released from mouths of flame,
Still the world denied His Name.
Idols carved of gold and stone,
Bloodshed, theft, corruption grown.
Even in the warning cry —
They would not repent nor bow.
Final Chorus
The abyss may roar and rage,
But heaven still directs the page.
The Lamb who broke the seals before
Holds the key to every door.
Outro
Darkness rose —
But not supreme.
The throne remains.
The Lamb still reigns.
