What Happens
John, exiled on Patmos, receives a vision of the glorified Jesus. Christ appears not as suffering servant — but reigning King. He stands among seven lampstands (the churches). He holds seven stars in His right hand.
What It Means
This is not a distant Christ. This is the reigning, present Christ.
Why It Matters Today
The church does not serve a memory. We serve the Living One.
When culture shakes… When persecution rises… When faith feels fragile…
He is still: • First and Last • Alive forevermore • Holding the keys of death
Revelation 1 reveals: • Jesus as High Priest (robe & sash) • Jesus as Ancient of Days (white hair – Daniel 7) • Jesus as Divine Judge (eyes of fire) • Jesus as Sovereign King • Jesus as Conqueror of Death
The cross was not the end. It was the doorway to glory.
🎵 Revelation 1 — “The Voice Like Many Waters”
(Majestic Pines – Hybrid Style)
Verse 1
I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s Day,
Exiled on Patmos for His Name.
When behind me rolled a voice like thunder,
Calling me to turn and look again.
Seven golden lamps were burning bright,
And One stood clothed in holy light.
A robe that brushed His royal feet,
A golden sash across His chest.
Verse 2
His hair was white like wool and snow,
His eyes like flames that search the soul.
His feet like bronze refined in fire,
His voice like oceans in their roar.
Seven stars were in His hand,
A sharpened sword from His command.
His face like sun at blazing noon—
I fell as dead before the throne.
Chorus
Alpha, Omega — First and Last,
The Living One who holds all past.
He was dead — but now He lives,
And holds the keys no grave can keep.
Do not fear — He speaks to me,
“I am alive eternally.”
Verse 3
His right hand touched my trembling frame,
“Do not be afraid,” He gently said.
“I was dead, behold I live,
And death itself bows at My feet.
Write what was and what will be,
The things revealed, the mystery:
The lamps are churches burning bright,
The stars are angels in My sight.”
Bridge
He walks among His gathered flame,
Not distant — present in His name.
The risen Christ, in glory stands,
The church secure within His hand.
Outro
Blessed are those who read and hear,
And hold these words with holy fear.
For time is near — the King is known…
The risen Lord upon the throne.
