After more complaints, God sends fiery serpents among the people. When they repent, He commands Moses to make a bronze serpent on a pole so that whoever looks at it will live. Israel later defeats Sihon and Og, gaining territory east of the Jordan. The bronze serpent foreshadows Christ lifted up on the cross, offering life to all who look to Him in faith.
