The people begin to complain about their hardships and crave meat instead of manna. God’s anger burns, but He also provides quail in abundance, which becomes a plague to the greedy. Moses, overwhelmed by the people’s demands, shares his leadership with seventy elders upon whom God places His Spirit. This chapter exposes the human heart’s restlessness and shows that God’s provision must be received with gratitude and trust.
