Opposition intensifies as Sanballat and Tobiah mock the builders. The people pray, keep working, and set guards to protect against possible attack. Fear rises, but Nehemiah encourages the people to remember the Lord and fight for their families. Half the workers build while the other half stand ready for battle. This chapter teaches perseverance, spiritual warfare, and the importance of staying focused on God’s mission despite intimidation. Christ-Foreshadowing: The builders working with a tool in one hand and a weapon in the other foreshadow Christ equipping His people to build His Kingdom while standing firm against spiritual enemies.
