Luke 8 reveals the spreading reach of Jesus’ ministry and the varied responses to God’s Word. Jesus teaches that the condition of the heart determines whether the truth bears fruit. Those who hear and live the Word are identified as His true family.
Jesus then demonstrates His authority over nature by calming the storm, over demons by freeing a tormented man, over sickness by healing a woman, and over death by raising a child. Each encounter invites the same question: Who is this Jesus?
Luke highlights faith expressed through trust — holding to the Word, calling out in desperation, and continuing to believe even when circumstances seem final.
Luke 8 foreshadows Christ as Lord over all creation — sea, spirits, sickness, and death. The seed imagery anticipates the growth of the Church through patient faith. The raising of the child points forward to Christ’s own resurrection and the life He gives to all who believe.

Full Song Lyrics
Verse 1 — On the Road
He traveled town to town again
Proclaiming God’s Kingdom to women and men
The Twelve walked close along the way
And women healed who chose to stay
Mary freed from darkness deep
Joanna, Susanna — faithful feet
They gave their lives, their means, their care
So truth could travel everywhere
Verse 2 — The Seed Is Sown
A crowd gathered, He spoke in seed
Stories planted for hearts to read
Some fell hard, some sprang then died
Some were choked as worries climbed
But some fell deep in open ground
And fruit was born where faith was found
Chorus — Let It Grow
Take the word and hold it fast
With patient hearts that truly last
The seed is strong, the truth is near
Let it grow in those who hear
Verse 3 — Light and Family
No lamp is lit to hide its flame
Truth is meant to bear God’s name
Those who hear and live it true
Are family — not just blood or view
Verse 4 — The Storm
They crossed the lake as evening came
He slept while waves forgot their frame
The wind arose, the boat filled fast
Fear cried out, “We will not last!”
He stood and spoke — the storm obeyed
Silence fell where chaos played
Chorus — Who Is This?
Who is this whom winds obey?
Who commands the sea’s array?
Power moves at His decree
Fear bows down where faith can see
Verse 5 — Among the Tombs
On foreign shores, a broken man
Lived bound by chains no one could stand
Jesus spoke, the demons fled
Legion lost what held him dead
Clothed and calm, the man sat still
Sent to tell God’s mercy-filled will
Verse 6 — Interrupted Faith
A ruler ran — “My daughter’s dying”
Crowds pressed close as hope was crying
A woman touched His garment’s seam
Twelve long years of suffering seen
“Who touched Me?” — power released
“Your faith has healed you — go in peace”
Verse 7 — Do Not Fear
The message came — “The child is gone”
But Jesus said, “The work goes on
Do not fear — just trust My word”
He took her hand — life returned
A twelve-year-old arose that day
Death stepped back and fled away
Final Chorus — Keep Believing
Keep believing, do not fear
The Kingdom’s power is still here
From storm to grave, from shame to peace
Faith receives what He releases
Outro
Who is this? — the question stays
Until faith finds its voice to say
