Luke 18 teaches how God responds to those who come to Him. Persistent prayer, humble repentance, childlike trust, and honest dependence are honored, while pride and self-reliance block the heart.
Jesus contrasts outward righteousness with inward humility, shows that wealth can hinder surrender, and assures His followers that God can do what humans cannot. The chapter ends with healing that flows from persistent faith, reinforcing that God responds to those who cry out in trust.
Luke 18 foreshadows Christ as the righteous judge who brings true justice, the merciful Savior who justifies the humble, and the Son of David who opens blind eyes. The road toward Jerusalem anticipates the cross, where mercy will be fully revealed

Full Song Lyrics
Verse 1 — Keep Praying
Jesus told them why He spoke:
So they would pray and not lose hope
A judge who feared no law or man
Ignored a widow’s steady stand
But day by day she would not cease
Till justice came through her persistence
Chorus — Do Not Give Up
Do not give up, do not lose heart
God hears the cry from the very start
If even the unjust respond in time
How much more will God reply
Verse 2 — Two Men Prayed
Two men went to pray that day
One stood proud, the other stayed
“I thank You I am not like them”
He named his works, counted his gain
But far away a sinner cried
“God, be merciful” — no lifted eyes
Chorus — Justified
The humble left made right that day
The proud went home the same old way
Who lifts himself will fall from grace
The low are raised in God’s embrace
Verse 3 — Let Them Come
They brought the children close to Him
But others tried to stop them then
Jesus said, “Let children near
God’s Kingdom looks exactly here
Receive it small, receive it true
Or you will never enter through”
Verse 4 — The Question Asked
A ruler asked, “What must I do
To gain eternal life from You?”
Jesus named the law he knew
Then said, “There’s one thing left to do
Sell your wealth, give to the poor
Follow Me” — he wanted more
Chorus — One Thing Lacking
One thing lacking held him fast
What he owned owned him at last
He walked away with heavy breath
Clinging tight to fading wealth
Verse 5 — What Is Possible
“Who then can be saved?” they said
Jesus answered what He meant
“What is impossible with man
Is possible with God’s own hand”
Verse 6 — Promised Reward
Peter said, “We left our lives”
Jesus answered with a promise wise
“You’ll receive a hundredfold
And life eternal — more than gold”
Verse 7 — On the Road
He told them plainly what would come
Jerusalem, rejection, death, and done
But on the road a blind man cried
“Son of David!” from the side
“Your faith has healed you — now you see”
And praise followed openly
Final Chorus — Faith That Sees
Faith that cries and will not hide
Faith that throws all pride aside
God hears the honest heart that pleads
And gives new life to those in need
Outro
Mercy heard, the blind can see
God lifts the low — and that is key
