Judges 7 shows God intentionally shrinking Gideon’s army from 32,000 to 300 so Israel cannot boast. That night, God strengthens Gideon’s courage by letting him overhear a Midianite’s dream predicting Israel’s victory. Encouraged, Gideon divides the 300 into companies with torches, pitchers, and trumpets. At God’s signal, they shatter the jars and blow their trumpets, causing Midian’s army to panic and destroy itself. The victory demonstrates God’s might, not human strength, and teaches that deliverance flows from faith, obedience, and God’s sovereign hand.
