Judges 18 — The Danites and the Stolen Idol

Judges 18 shows the tribe of Dan seeking new land. Spies discover Micah’s shrine and persuade the Levite to join them. Six hundred Danite warriors steal Micah’s idols and priest, and Micah is powerless to stop them. The Danites attack peaceful Laish, destroying it and renaming the city “Dan.” They then set up Micah’s idols as their own worship system. This chapter reveals widespread spiritual distortion, where even Israel’s priests and tribes willingly embrace idolatry.
