Judges 15 continues Samson’s conflict with the Philistines. When Samson learns his wife was given away, he burns the Philistine fields with three hundred foxes. In retaliation, they kill his former wife and her father, prompting Samson to strike them down. Judah hands Samson over to the Philistines, but the Spirit of the Lord empowers him as the ropes fall away. Using a donkey’s jawbone, Samson kills a thousand men. God then miraculously provides water when Samson cries out. Samson judges Israel twenty years.
