Caleb reminds Joshua of the promise Moses made when he returned from spying the land with a faithful report. At eighty-five years old—still strong—he asks for Hebron, the land of the Anakim giants. Joshua blesses him, and Caleb drives out the giants because he “wholly followed the Lord.” This chapter highlights courageous faith and God’s perfect memory of His promises. It foreshadows Christ, who strengthens His people to claim their spiritual inheritance.
