Though brief, this letter reinforces core themes from 1 John.
This chapter protects the community of faith without abandoning the command to love.
Jesus:
To depart from Him is to lose both Father and Son.
🌲 2 John 1 — “Walk in Truth”
Genre: Soft acoustic / reflective worship
Vibe: Warm but watchful, loving yet discerning
Verse 1
To the chosen and her children,
Whom I love in truth sincere—
Not by me alone, but all
Who hold that truth most dear.
Because the truth abides within us,
And forever will remain—
Grace and mercy, peace from Jesus
In truth and love sustain.
Chorus
Walk in truth, walk in love,
As commanded from above.
Hold fast what you heard at the start—
Let Christ remain in your heart.
Love one another, steady and sure,
In doctrine faithful and pure.
Walk in truth, do not bend—
Let abiding never end.
Verse 2
I rejoiced to find your children
Living what the Father said—
Not a new command I give you,
But the one you’ve always read.
This is love: we walk obedient,
Following His way—
Not inventing what feels kinder,
But what He chose to say.
Verse 3
Many deceivers walk among us,
Denying Christ in flesh—
This is antichrist among you,
Truth they would suppress.
Whoever runs beyond the teaching,
Leaves the Father’s side—
But whoever stays within it
Has the Son as guide.
Bridge
If one comes with altered doctrine,
Do not welcome what is false—
Love protects the house of truth,
It does not open doors.
For to bless what Christ has not blessed
Is to share in hidden wrong—
Guard the gospel you were given,
Keep it firm and strong.
Final Chorus
Walk in truth, walk in light,
Let discernment guard what’s right.
Love is never blind to lies—
It stands where Christ abides.
Grace and mercy, peace remain
Where truth and love sustain.
Hold the line, endure to the end—
Walk in truth, my friend.
