John 14 is spoken into fear. Jesus comforts His disciples by assuring them of a prepared place, His return, and continued presence. He identifies Himself as the only way to the Father and reveals that knowing Him is knowing God.
Jesus promises the Holy Spirit as Helper and Comforter, who will dwell within believers. The chapter closes with a gift of peace — not circumstantial, but rooted in Christ’s victory.
Jesus reveals Himself as the way to the Father, the embodiment of truth and life. His promise of the Spirit anticipates Pentecost, and His assurance of peace points to the victory secured through the cross and resurrection.

Full Song Lyrics
Verse 1 — Troubled Hearts
He said, “Do not let fear take hold
Trust in God — and trust Me still
My Father’s house has many rooms
A place prepared — I go ahead of you
If I go — I will return
To bring you where I am — be certain”
Chorus — A Place Prepared
There is a place with your name known
You are not lost — you’re not alone
Where I am — you will be too
A promised home made sure for you
Verse 2 — The Way
Thomas said, “We do not know
Where You are going — how do we go?”
Jesus said, “I am the way
The truth — the life — not words to say
No one comes except through Me
If you know Me — the Father you’ll see”
Verse 3 — Show Us the Father
Philip said, “Show the Father then”
Jesus said, “Have I not been
With you long — yet still unseen?
Whoever sees Me sees Him
I speak not from Myself alone
The Father works — His power shown
Believe My words — or what you’ve seen”
Chorus — Greater Works
Whoever trusts in what I do
Will do these works — and greater too
Because I go — not far away
But send My power in another way
Verse 4 — Love and Obedience
“If you love Me — keep My word
Love obeys — not forced, but stirred
I will ask the Father’s hand
Another Helper will be sent
The Spirit — truth — the world can’t see
But He will live — and stay with thee”
Verse 5 — Not Left Alone
“I will not leave you as orphans still
I am coming — by My will
In a little while — unseen by them
But you will see Me live again
Because I live — you also will
My life in you — the Father’s will”
Chorus — Peace I Give
Peace I leave — not as the world
Gives and takes when hope is curled
Let not your hearts be torn by fear
Stand firm — My peace is near
Verse 6 — My Father’s Home
“In that day you’ll surely know
I’m in the Father — you in Me also
If you love Me — My word will stay
My Father too will make His way
We will come — and dwell within
A home not built of stone or sin”
Final Chorus — Do Not Be Afraid
Do not be afraid — do not fall
I have overcome it all
I go — but not away from you
I go to bring My promise true
Outro
“Rise,” He said — “let us depart”
Hope walked out with beating hearts
