John 1 introduces Jesus as the eternal Word through whom all things were made. He is the source of life and light, entering a darkened world that does not fully receive Him. Yet all who believe are given new birth as children of God.
The chapter moves from cosmic truth to personal encounter. John the Baptist bears witness, disciples are called, and lives are renamed. Jesus is revealed as the Lamb of God, the Messiah, and the Son of Man — known before being known.
John 1 reveals Christ as Creator, Redeemer, and Revealer. The Word who made all things becomes flesh, the Lamb who takes away sin, and the King who knows hearts before words are spoken.

Full Song Lyrics
Verse 1 — In the Beginning
In the beginning — before the start
The Word was there, the Father’s heart
The Word was God, with God the same
All things made through Him came
Life was found within His breath
Light that shone into the dark of death
Chorus — The Light
The light shines on, the dark can’t win
It does not overcome Him
What was made, what now appears
Was born through Him — the Light is here
Verse 2 — A Witness Came
A man named John was sent to say
“Prepare the way, don’t look at me”
Not the light — but sent to tell
So all would see, so truth would dwell
The true light came into the world
Though hearts stayed closed, fists curled
Verse 3 — Received or Not
He came to what was meant His own
But many turned — refused the throne
Yet all who did receive His name
Were born of God, not blood or claim
Not human will, not earthly plan
But God Himself reached out to man
Chorus — Born of God
Not by strength, not by name
But mercy called and hearts were changed
Children born by grace alone
A family God has made His own
Verse 4 — The Word Became Flesh
The Word took skin and walked our ground
Glory wrapped in flesh was found
Full of grace and truth displayed
God with us — not far away
We saw His glory, quiet and real
The Father’s love no veil could seal
Verse 5 — Grace Upon Grace
From Him fullness overflowed
Grace on grace — the debt erased
The law was given through Moses’ hand
But truth and grace in Jesus stand
Verse 6 — Behold the Lamb
John pointed out as He passed by
“Behold the Lamb!” was his cry
The One who takes the world’s deep sin
Two followed Him — the search began
“What do you seek?” the Teacher asked
They stayed that day — their lives recast
Chorus — Come and See
Come and see where truth abides
Not a theory — a living life
Stay and learn, remain and know
God is nearer than you thought before
Verse 7 — Found and Named
Andrew ran to tell his brother then
“We’ve found the Christ — the promised One!”
Jesus looked and spoke his name
“You are Peter — you’ll not stay the same”
Verse 8 — Known Before
Philip heard, “Follow Me”
Nathaniel doubted what could be
“Can good come from Nazareth?”
Jesus spoke what no one said
“I saw you before you came”
“Rabbi, You are God’s own Son proclaimed”
Final Chorus — He Is
He is the Word, the Light, the Lamb
The Son of God, the Son of Man
Known before we ever speak
He comes for those who truly seek
Outro
He dwelt with us — and still does now
The Word made flesh is calling out
