Babylon’s pride is exposed and judged. Once confident in power and pleasure, Babylon faces humiliation and loss. God demonstrates that no empire can stand against His justice.
Christ humbles the proud and establishes a kingdom built on righteousness rather than domination.
Isaiah 47 — “The Spirit of Babylon Falls” (REWRITTEN SONG LYRICS)
Verse 1
Come down, sit in dust, no throne to claim,
Virgin Daughter Babylon—lose your name.
No longer “tender,” no longer “fine,”
Your glory fades in judgment’s light.
Take up the stone, grind flour slow,
The hidden life is now exposed.
Lift the veil, the pride comes down,
Shame uncovered for the town.
Chorus
This is the fall of Babylon,
The spirit that says, “I’m on my own.”
“I am, and there’s no one beside”—
A self-made god in borrowed pride.
No mercy learned, no turning back—
The Lord will judge the proudest act.
Babylon falls—no rescue near,
When God brings truth, the masks disappear.
Verse 2
Sit in silence, enter night,
Queen of kingdoms losing height.
God was angry, gave you power—
But you crushed the weak in that hour.
No mercy shown, no pity spared,
Even the aged bowed and bared.
You said, “Forever I will reign,”
Never thinking of the end you’d gain.
Chorus
This is the fall of Babylon,
The spirit that says, “I’m on my own.”
“I am, and there’s no one beside”—
A self-made god in borrowed pride.
No mercy learned, no turning back—
The Lord will judge the proudest act.
Babylon falls—no rescue near,
When God brings truth, the masks disappear.
Bridge
Now listen, lover of pleasure, secure in your seat,
Saying, “Nothing can touch me, no loss, no defeat.”
In one single day it comes like a flood—
Widowhood, children gone, stripped of your love.
You trusted in darkness—“No one can see,”
But the Holy One answers: “I see perfectly.”
Verse 3
Disaster arrives you can’t conjure away,
No ransom can stop it, no deal can delay.
So keep your spells, your sorceries worn,
Your lifelong magic—pridefully sworn.
Bring out the stargazers, monthly forecasts,
Let them save you—let them outlast.
But they are stubble before the flame,
No warmth to sit by, no help to claim.
Final Chorus
This is the fall of Babylon,
The spirit that will not bow to God.
No repentance, no humble plea—
Only “I am,” in blasphemy.
Your counselors scatter, your powers fail,
Your false light burns, then turns to pale.
Babylon falls—none can save,
The Lord alone rules earth and grave.
Outro
Go on in your error—hear the word:
Not one can save you.
Babylon falls.
