Song Lyrics (Story-Driven + Clear)

Verse 1

When Hezekiah heard the words,

He tore his robe, his heart was stirred.

He covered himself in humble plea,

And went to God on bended knee.

He sent for Isaiah, servant true,

Saying, “Pray—what can we do?

The day is dark, our strength is small,

But God still hears when His people call.”

Chorus

The Lord has heard the enemy’s voice,

Every boast, every proud choice.

Do not fear what men have said—

The living God will fight instead.

Stand still, take heart, lift up your cry—

The Lord Most High is drawing nigh.

Verse 2

The enemy wrote with mocking hand,

Defying God across the land.

So Hezekiah spread the threat

Before the Lord and did not fret.

“O God who reigns above the skies,

You alone are God,” he cries.

“Save us now, so all may see

The Lord alone brings victory.”

Chorus

The Lord has heard the enemy’s voice,

Every boast, every proud choice.

Do not fear what men have said—

The living God will fight instead.

Stand still, take heart, lift up your cry—

The Lord Most High is drawing nigh.

Bridge

The Lord replied through prophet’s word:

“I know your rage—I’ve seen and heard.

You mocked My name, you lifted pride,

But now I turn you back aside.”

“I’ll put My hook within your jaw,

Return you home by unseen law.”

Verse 3

That very night the Lord arose,

No trumpet blown, no battle closed.

An angel passed through Assyria’s camp,

And silence fell before the dawn.

They woke to see what pride had earned—

The mighty host had not returned.

The king went home in humbled shame,

And God’s great name was still proclaimed.

Final Chorus

The Lord has saved, the city stands,

Not by sword nor human hands.

What no army could defend,

God preserved unto the end.

From mocking threat to holy praise—

The Lord is strong through all our days.

Outro

The prayer was heard…

The night was won…

The Lord alone had done it.
