Hebrews 1 — The Final Revelation: The Son

Hebrews opens by declaring that Jesus is not merely another prophet in a long line of messengers. In the past, God spoke in fragments and shadows through prophets. But now He has spoken fully and finally through His Son. Jesus is described as heir of all things, Creator of the universe, the radiance of God’s glory, and the exact imprint of His nature. He sustains all things by His powerful word and, after making purification for sins, sat down at the right hand of Majesty — signaling completion. The chapter then proves from the Old Testament that the Son is superior to angels. Angels serve; the Son reigns eternally. This chapter establishes Christ’s absolute supremacy and divine identity.

Hebrews 1 — “Heir of All Things”

Verse 1

Long ago through prophets’ voices,

Dreams and fire and trembling choices,

God would speak in shadowed ways,

Through burning bush and ancient days.

But now the silence breaks apart,

Not just a word — but God’s own heart.

Not fragments, not a distant theme —

The Son has stepped into the scene.

Verse 2

Heir of all that will remain,

Maker of the stars and rain.

Through Him worlds were spun in place,

Time itself held by His grace.

He radiates the Father’s light,

Glory blazing, pure and bright.

Exact imprint of His frame,

He upholds all things by His name.

Chorus

Higher than angels,

Crowned above flame,

Seated in heaven,

Exalted Name.

Forever unshaken,

Eternal throne —

All of creation

Bows to the Son.

Verse 3

After He had cleansed our sin,

Victory written in crimson ink,

He sat down — the work complete,

Mercy and justice finally meet.

Not one more sacrifice to bring,

Not another offering.

The cross was finished, debt was paid,

The grave itself began to fade.

Verse 4

Angels worship at His feet,

Winds and fire His servants meet.

But to the Son the Father said:

“Your throne will stand when stars are dead.”

Righteous scepter in His hand,

King of an unshaken land.

He laid earth’s foundation stone,

Yet calls redeemed hearts His own.

Bridge

He does not change. He will remain.

When heaven folds like a garment plain,

Still He stands — unchanged, supreme,

Author of the eternal dream.

Final Chorus

Higher than angels,

Crowned above flame,

Before all ages,

Forever the same.

The prophets whispered —

Now heaven shouts:

Jesus the Son —

All things are about.
