After many months, the waters recede and the ark rests on the mountains of Ararat. Noah patiently waits for God’s direction, sending out a dove that eventually returns with an olive leaf—sign of new life and peace. When Noah steps onto dry land, his first act is to build an altar and worship God. God receives his offering and promises never again to destroy all life by flood, setting the rainbow covenant in motion. This chapter reminds us that after seasons of trial, worship should be our first response, and that God’s remembrance means steadfast love and faithfulness toward His people.
