Jacob sets out for Egypt and offers sacrifices at Beersheba, where God reassures him in a vision: “Do not be afraid to go down to Egypt, for I will make you into a great nation there.” Seventy members of Jacob’s family journey to Goshen, reuniting with Joseph in tears of joy. This chapter celebrates faith’s obedience to divine direction and the comfort of God’s presence in transition. It shows that moving forward in faith—even into unfamiliar places— becomes the path through which God multiplies His blessings.
