When famine spreads, Jacob sends his sons to Egypt for grain, unaware that the governor they meet is Joseph. Recognizing them, Joseph tests their hearts by accusing them of being spies and holding Simeon until Benjamin comes. Guilt over their past fills them with fear, and they say, “Surely we are being punished for our brother.” This chapter reveals the power of conscience and divine providence. God begins to awaken repentance in the hearts of those who wronged Joseph, showing that He orchestrates circumstances to heal long- hidden sin and restore families through conviction and mercy.
