Arriving in Haran, Jacob meets Rachel and agrees to work seven years for her hand in marriage. But Laban deceives him, giving Leah instead. Jacob works another seven years for Rachel, whom he loves deeply. The rivalry between the sisters begins, and God shows compassion to Leah, granting her children while Rachel remains barren. This chapter reveals the tangled web of human emotion—love, jealousy, and deceit—and yet God works through it all to build the family that will become the twelve tribes of Israel. His purposes stand even in imperfect circumstances.
