God tests Abraham’s faith by asking him to sacrifice Isaac, the son of promise. In quiet obedience, Abraham sets out to do as the Lord commands, trusting that God can even raise the dead. At the last moment, an angel stops him, and a ram caught in a thicket becomes the substitute offering. God reaffirms His covenant, blessing Abraham for his unwavering trust. This chapter powerfully foreshadows the sacrifice of Christ—the true Lamb provided by God. It teaches that genuine faith surrenders everything to God, believing His goodness even when the path is painful.
