Galatians 6

Galatians 6 brings the letter to a pastoral and cross-centered close.

1️⃣ Restore Gently

Believers are to restore those caught in sin with gentleness (Gal. 6:1), recognizing their own vulnerability.

2️⃣ Bear One Another’s Burdens

Christlike love is practical. Bearing burdens fulfills the “law of Christ” (Gal. 6:2), which reflects the command to love.

3️⃣ Personal Responsibility

While burdens are shared, each person is accountable before God (Gal. 6:4–5).

4️⃣ The Law of Sowing and Reaping

God is not mocked — what one sows, one reaps (Gal. 6:7–8).
• Sowing to flesh → corruption
• Sowing to Spirit → eternal life

5️⃣ Do Not Grow Weary

Faithfulness requires endurance. There is a promised harvest for perseverance (Gal. 6:9–10).

6️⃣ Boast Only in the Cross

Paul contrasts those who boast in circumcision with his own boast — the cross of Christ (Gal. 6:14). Through the cross:
• The world is crucified to the believer
• The believer is crucified to the world

Key truth:
What counts is a new creation (Gal. 6:15).

Galatians ends exactly where it must —
Not in law.
Not in ritual.
But in the cross.

✝️ Christ Foreshadowing / Gospel Thread

  • The “law of Christ” reflects Jesus’ sacrificial love.
• Sowing to the Spirit flows from the indwelling Spirit given through Christ.
• New creation echoes prophetic promises of renewed covenant life.
• The cross stands as the sole ground of boasting.

Galatians begins defending the gospel.
It ends defending the cross.

Song Lyrics

Brothers, if one should slip and fall,
Restore him gently — that is all.
Not with pride or sharpened tone,
But knowing weakness is our own.

Bear one another’s heavy load,
And so fulfill what Christ has showed.
For love is not a distant word —
It’s shoulders bent and kindness stirred.

ChorusDo not grow weary in the sowing,
For in due time there’s harvest growing.
What a man sows, that shall he reap —
The flesh brings loss, the Spirit keeps.
So let us labor while we can,
Do good to all, in every land —
Especially those of household faith,
Until we see Him face to face.

If anyone thinks much of self,
Yet measures not his inner health,
He walks in pride’s deceiving air —
But truth calls each to self-aware.

Each must carry what is his,
For judgment’s scale is personal, His.
Yet share with those who teach the Word —
Let gratitude in action stir.

VerseGod is not mocked by outward show,
He sees the seeds that each heart sows.
To sow to flesh is death and loss,
To sow to Spirit — life through cross.

The world may boast in marks and name,
In outward signs of ritual claim.
But I will boast in only One —
The cross where victory was won.

BridgeThrough that cross the world has died,
Its empty glory set aside.
And I to it — no longer bound,
For new creation now is found.

Not circumcision, not the sign —
But hearts made new by love divine.
Peace and mercy on all who stand
Within this grace-formed covenant plan.

I bear the marks of Christ, my Lord,
Not man’s applause nor law’s reward.
The scars I wear are witness true —
That grace alone has made me new.

Final ChorusSo boast in nothing but the cross,
Where gain was found in holy loss.
Walk by the Spirit, sow in grace,
Serve with humble, faithful pace.
Until the harvest fills the sky —
We live by Christ who did not die,
But rose to seal redemption’s claim —
Forever glory to His name.
