Ezra records the names of those who return with him and realizes no Levites are present. He sends for them, and God moves the right men to come. Before traveling, Ezra calls for a fast to seek God’s protection. They entrust temple gifts to appointed priests and begin the journey. God protects them from danger, and they safely deliver the treasures in Jerusalem and resume worship with sacrifices.
Christ-Foreshadowing: God’s protective hand on the journey points to Christ, who leads and preserves His people as they walk in obedience.
