Ezra, a skilled scribe and priest, is sent by King Artaxerxes to Jerusalem to teach God’s Law and strengthen temple worship. The king supplies abundant gifts and authorizes Ezra to appoint judges. Ezra praises God for giving him favor and gathers leaders for the journey. His arrival marks a shift from physical rebuilding to spiritual reform.
Christ-Foreshadowing: Ezra’s role as teacher of God’s Word foreshadows Christ, the perfect Teacher who brings God’s truth to His people.
