God condemns false prophets who claim divine authority while speaking from their own imagination. They offer false peace, ignore repentance, and reassure people who should be warned. Their work is compared to a flimsy wall covered in whitewash — attractive on the surface, but unable to withstand judgment.
The chapter also addresses false prophetesses who manipulate people spiritually for personal gain. God promises to expose deception, tear down false security, and deliver those trapped by lies. True prophecy confronts sin and calls people back to God — it does not comfort them into destruction.
Ezekiel 13 anticipates Christ’s warnings against false teachers and shallow religion. Jesus, the true prophet, speaks truth even when it is costly and offers real peace rooted in repentance and obedience.
Ezekiel 13
“Peace When There Is None”
Verse 1
The word of the Lord came strong and plain,
“Son of man, speak against deceitful claims.
Prophets who follow their own design,
Speaking visions — but none are Mine.”
Pre-Chorus
They say, “The Lord has spoken,”
When no word from Me was given.
They chase the wind, they heal no wound,
Building lies that fall too soon.
Chorus
They cry out, “Peace,” but there is none,
Whitewashed walls will not stand long.
When the storm and hail break through,
The truth will show what lies can’t do.
You will know when it’s all undone:
I am the Lord — the faithful One.
Verse 2
Like jackals roaming broken ground,
They profit where the lost are found.
They strengthen hands that choose the wrong,
Condemning truth, calling lies strong.
Pre-Chorus 2
So I will tear the wall they made,
Strip the plaster, expose the frame.
No place left for false display,
The storm will wash their work away.
Chorus
They cry out, “Peace,” but there is none,
Whitewashed walls will not stand long.
When the storm and hail break through,
The truth will show what lies can’t do.
You will know when it’s all undone:
I am the Lord — the faithful One.
Bridge
And to the women who trap the soul,
Sewing bands, casting spells for gold:
You hunt the lives that should live on,
But I will break what you have done.
Outro / Anchor Line
False hope falls, My word remains,
I rescue truth from lying chains.
When lies collapse and masks are torn,
You’ll know the Lord has truly warned.
