When Moses and Aaron first confront Pharaoh with God’s command—“Let My people go”— Pharaoh mocks the Lord and increases the Hebrews’ labor. The people grow discouraged, and Moses questions God’s plan. Yet God assures him that deliverance will come by His mighty hand. This chapter reveals the initial clash between God’s authority and human pride. Before freedom comes, faith must endure opposition. It reminds believers that obedience may first make life harder, but God’s promises never fail, even when fulfillment feels delayed.
