The bronze altar and outer courtyard are described, representing access to God through sacrifice. The perpetual lamp is to burn continually, signifying God’s light that never goes out. This chapter teaches that worship begins with atonement and continues in light. God calls His people to keep His presence before them always. The altar reminds us that forgiveness is costly, while the lamp reminds us that grace never ceases. Together they proclaim that holiness and mercy meet in God’s dwelling.
