Moses reads God’s words to the people, and they respond, “We will do everything the Lord has said.” An altar is built, sacrifices offered, and the blood of the covenant sprinkled, sealing the relationship between God and Israel. Moses, Aaron, and the elders then ascend the mountain and behold God’s glory, seeing a pavement like sapphire beneath His feet. Moses remains on the mountain forty days. This chapter captures the wonder of covenant fellowship—the God of heaven entering communion with humanity. It teaches that obedience is sealed by sacrifice and that God’s presence is the reward of faithful surrender.
