Three months after leaving Egypt, Israel camps at Mount Sinai, where God calls Moses to the mountain. God declares His purpose: “You will be My treasured possession, a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.” The people agree to obey all the Lord commands. Thunder, lightning, and smoke envelop the mountain as God’s presence descends. This chapter reveals the holiness of God and His desire for relationship through covenant. It calls believers to live as a people set apart—chosen not for privilege alone, but for witness and worship.
