At Rephidim, Israel complains of thirst, and God tells Moses to strike the rock, from which water flows abundantly. Later, when Amalek attacks, Israel prevails as long as Moses holds up his hands, supported by Aaron and Hur. This chapter shows that God’s presence meets physical and spiritual needs alike. The rock symbolizes Christ, our source of living water, and the raised hands represent intercession and dependence on God. Victory in life’s battles is won not by strength but through prayer and unity among God’s people.
