God institutes the Passover, commanding each family to sacrifice a lamb and mark their doorposts with its blood so the destroyer will pass over them. That night, Egypt’s firstborn die, and Pharaoh finally releases Israel. The people leave in haste, carrying unleavened bread and treasures from the Egyptians. This chapter stands as the heart of redemption’s story: salvation by blood, freedom through faith, and remembrance through worship. Every detail foreshadows Christ, the Lamb of God, whose sacrifice delivers His people from bondage to sin and death.
