At the second banquet, the king again asks Esther for her request. With wisdom and bravery, Esther reveals her Jewish identity and exposes Haman’s plot to annihilate her people. The king is horrified, realizing he has unknowingly approved the destruction of his own queen. In rage, he orders Haman to be executed on the very gallows Haman built for Mordecai.
The swift justice illustrates that God defends His people, even when earthly powers fail. Haman’s fall is sudden and complete, proving that pride and hatred cannot stand against God’s covenant protection.
Christ-Foreshadowing: Haman’s downfall anticipates Christ’s victory over the enemy of our souls—who is ultimately defeated by the righteousness and intercession of the true King.
