After three days of fasting, Esther enters the king’s court. God grants her favor, and the king welcomes her with his golden scepter. Instead of presenting her request immediately, Esther wisely invites the king and Haman to a private banquet. During the feast, she invites them again to a second banquet, waiting for God’s timing.
Meanwhile, Haman leaves the palace filled with pride—until he sees Mordecai refusing to bow yet again. Consumed with hatred, he erects a massive gallows, intending to execute Mordecai the very next day. This chapter shows Esther’s spiritual discernment and Haman’s growing delusion. The quiet patience of faith contrasts sharply with the restless pride of wickedness.
Christ-Foreshadowing: Esther’s bold yet humble approach to the throne parallels the way Christ opens the way for believers to approach God’s throne of grace with confidence.
