Moses declares the Shema — “Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.” He commands Israel to love God with all their heart, soul, and strength, teaching His words to their children and remembering Him in prosperity. They must not forget the God who redeemed them from Egypt. This chapter teaches that devotion to God is the foundation of life and must permeate every part of the home and heart.
Christ-Foreshadowing: Jesus identifies this as the greatest commandment and empowers believers to love God wholeheartedly.
