Daniel 6 recounts Daniel’s unwavering devotion to God under Persian rule. Because of jealousy, officials manipulate the king into signing a law that targets Daniel’s prayer life. Daniel continues to pray openly, is arrested, and thrown into the lions’ den. God miraculously protects him by sending an angel to shut the lions’ mouths. Daniel is delivered, his accusers are judged, and King Darius proclaims the greatness of the living God. The chapter shows that faithfulness to God must remain constant, even when obedience brings danger.
Daniel’s unjust accusation, faithful obedience, and miraculous deliverance point forward to Christ, who was falsely accused yet entrusted Himself fully to God. Like Daniel, Jesus was sealed in a place of death, yet emerged victorious by God’s power.

Full Song Lyrics
Verse 1 — Faithful in the Kingdom
Darius ruled with ordered hand,
Set governors across the land.
Daniel rose above them all,
A faithful man, obedient, tall.
An excellent spirit marked his way,
No fault was found, no debt to pay.
So envy grew in hearts unclean,
They sought a trap, a jealous scheme.
Verse 2 — The Law Devised
They said, “O king, decree this law:
No prayer but yours for days set forth.
Whoever breaks it shall be thrown
Into the lions’ den of stone.”
Unaware of hidden lies,
The king agreed, the law was signed.
A law that could not be undone,
Sealed by men, opposed to One.
Chorus — Still I Will Pray
Still I will pray, as I have done,
Toward Jerusalem, toward the One.
Windows open, heart made plain,
Faithful still… though it brings pain.
Verse 3 — Accused and Condemned
They watched and found him on his knees,
Calling on God faithfully.
They rushed the charge before the throne,
The trap was set, the guilt was shown.
The king was grieved, he sought a way,
But law prevailed till close of day.
“May your God whom you always serve
Deliver you,” the king observed.
Chorus — Still I Will Pray
Still I will pray, as I have done,
Toward Jerusalem, toward the One.
Windows open, heart made plain,
Faithful still… though it brings pain.
Verse 4 — The Lion’s Den
A stone was rolled, the den was sealed,
With royal sign and nobles’ yield.
The king fasted through the night,
No rest, no songs, no delight.
At break of dawn, he rushed with fear,
“Daniel, servant of God Most High,
Has He been able to rescue you?”
A living voice replied him true.
Bridge — God Sent His Angel
“My God sent angels, shut their jaws,
No harm was found, no broken laws.
For I was blameless in His sight,
And faithful too before the king.”
Outro — God Is Exalted
They pulled him up, no wound, no tear,
The lions claimed the accusers’ fear.
The king proclaimed to every land:
The living God… forever stands.
His kingdom sure, His power known,
His rule endures beyond all thrones.
