Daniel 2 recounts Nebuchadnezzar’s troubling dream and the failure of Babylon’s wise men to reveal it. When death is decreed, Daniel seeks mercy from God, who reveals both the dream and its interpretation. The statue represents a sequence of earthly kingdoms, each inferior to the last. The stone “not cut by human hands” represents God’s eternal kingdom, which will destroy all human kingdoms and endure forever. The chapter proclaims God as the revealer of mysteries and sovereign ruler over history.
The stone not cut by human hands foreshadows Christ and His everlasting kingdom — established by God alone, not human power. Jesus is the cornerstone who brings an eternal kingdom that will never be destroyed.

Verse 1 — The King’s Dream
The king was shaken in the night,
A dream had fled beyond his sight.
His spirit troubled, sleep withdrawn,
Fear rose with the coming dawn.
He summoned wise men, near and far,
Magicians beneath the Babylonian star.
“Tell me the dream I cannot recall,
Or judgment will upon you fall.”
Verse 2 — Human Wisdom Fails
They pleaded, “No king has asked this thing,
No mortal knows what dreams may bring.”
But rage burned hot upon the throne,
A decree went out — all wise men gone.
The sword was drawn, the order spread,
Even Daniel marked for death.
Yet calmly he asked for time to pray,
Trusting God would make a way.
Chorus — The God Who Reveals
There is a God in heaven above,
Who reveals what is yet to come.
Secrets hidden, dark and deep,
Are held by Him who never sleeps.
Verse 3 — Prayer and Revelation
That night with friends he sought the Lord,
Mercy begged with one accord.
Then God unveiled the mystery,
The dream and meaning — perfectly.
Daniel blessed the God Most High,
Who lifts up kings and sets them aside.
Wisdom and power belong to His hand,
Light dwells where darkness cannot stand.
Chorus — The God Who Reveals
There is a God in heaven above,
Who reveals what is yet to come.
Secrets hidden, dark and deep,
Are held by Him who never sleeps.
Verse 4 — The Dream Declared
A towering statue, fearsome and bright,
Head of gold gleaming in royal light.
Chest of silver, belly of bronze,
Legs of iron — strength beyond.
Feet of iron mixed with clay,
A divided strength that would not stay.
Then a stone no human hand had made
Struck the feet — all kingdoms swayed.
Bridge — The Everlasting Kingdom
The statue fell to dust and sand,
Blown away by unseen hands.
But the stone became a mountain wide,
Filling all the earth in time.
A kingdom raised by heaven’s call,
That will never fade or fall.
The God of heaven, strong and true,
Will bring these certain things to view.
Outro — God Alone Is Exalted
The king bowed low before the truth,
God had spoken, proven, and moved.
He honored Daniel, gifts were poured,
Yet glory rose to the rightful Lord.
For wisdom comes from God alone,
He rules the future and the throne.
