Daniel 12 A Teaching Notes / Biblical Summary

Daniel 12 concludes the book with a promise of final deliverance and resurrection. A great time of distress will come, but God’s people — those written in His book — will be rescued. For the first time in Scripture, resurrection to everlasting life and everlasting shame is clearly declared. The wise are promised eternal glory, while the wicked remain in darkness. Daniel is told that the full meaning will be sealed until the appointed time, and he is personally assured of rest and resurrection. The chapter affirms that history ends not in chaos, but in resurrection, justice, and hope.

Christ-Foreshadowing

The promise of resurrection and eternal life finds its fulfillment in Christ, who declared Himself the resurrection and the life. The awakening of the righteous and the assurance given to Daniel point forward to Jesus’ victory over death and the hope of eternal inheritance for all who belong to Him.

Full Song Lyrics

Verse 1 — A Time of Trouble

At that time Michael will arise,

The great protector from the skies.

A time of trouble, unlike before,

Will shake the earth to its very core.

Yet written names will not be lost,

God knows His own, despite the cost.

Your people will be rescued then,

By God’s own hand… not strength of men.

Chorus — Awake and Live

From the dust of the earth they rise,

Some to life, some judgment’s eyes.

Everlasting — fixed and sure,

God’s word stands firm… forever pure.

Verse 2 — The Wise Will Shine

Those who are wise will brightly gleam,

Like heaven’s stars in endless beams.

Who lead the lost to righteousness

Will shine with God’s own holiness.

I heard but could not understand,

The end still sealed by God’s command.

“Go your way,” the voice replied,

“These words are kept for the latter time.”

Chorus — Awake and Live

From the dust of the earth they rise,

Some to life, some judgment’s eyes.

Everlasting — fixed and sure,

God’s word stands firm… forever pure.

Verse 3 — The Time Appointed

“How long?” I heard the question cry,

As heaven raised a solemn sign.

“For time, times, and half a span,

Till power breaks from violent hands.”

Many cleansed and purified,

The wicked blind, the wise with sight.

Each path revealed, each heart made plain,

Truth will stand… though trials remain.

Bridge — Rest and Rise

“Go your way till rest is found,

Then you will rise from sacred ground.

At the end of days you’ll take your place,

Among the heirs of promised grace.”

Outro — The Book Complete

So Daniel rests, the vision sealed,

Yet hope stands firm, fully revealed.

Though generations pass away,

God’s promise waits… that final day.
