Christ-Foreshadowing (Acts Lens)

Christ is revealed as:

  • The promised Son of David
• The risen One who did not see corruption
• The source of forgiveness and justification
• The Light to the Gentiles
• The King proclaimed across nations

The mission now clearly shifts outward.

A Light for the Nations”

In Antioch the prophets prayed,

Fasting as their hearts obeyed.

Barnabas and Saul stood near,

With faithful leaders gathered there.

While they worshiped, Spirit spoke:

“Set apart these men I’ve chosen

For the work I call them to.”

Hands were laid — their journey grew.

Down to Seleucia by the sea,

They sailed to Cyprus faithfully.

In synagogues the Word was read,

Of Christ who rose from death once dead.

Chorus

Sent by the Spirit, led by grace,

Carrying hope from place to place.

Through every city, shore to shore,

The risen Lord forevermore.

A light for nations far and wide —

In Jesus’ Name salvation’s cry.

In Paphos met a learned man,

Sergius Paulus, ruler of the land.

Beside him stood a sorcerer there,

Twisting truth with subtle snare.

Paul spoke firmly, filled with light,

Calling darkness into sight.

Sight was lost for just a time —

The ruler saw God’s greater sign.

He believed the teaching true —

At the power of the Lord he knew.

From Paphos sailed to Perga’s shore,

John turned back to go no more.

On to Pisidian Antioch,

Where Paul stood up to speak and talk.

“God chose Israel long ago,

Led them through both high and low.

From David’s line the promise came —

A Savior bearing Jesus’ Name.

Though leaders did not understand,

They fulfilled what prophets planned.

He was laid within a grave,

But God raised Him — strong to save.

Through this Man forgiveness flows,

Freedom Law could not bestow.

Do not turn this grace away —

God is working here today.”

Next Sabbath nearly all the town

Gathered when the Word was sound.

Some opposed with jealous voice —

Paul declared a wider choice:

“We now turn to Gentile lands,

As written in the Lord’s commands —

A light for nations, hope made known.”

Many believed and faith was sown.

Though driven from that region’s side,

They left with joy and Spirit guide.

Chorus

Sent by the Spirit, led by grace,

No force can halt His saving pace.

From Jew to Gentile truth is shown —

The risen King is known.
