Ezekiel 7 — Teaching Notes / Biblical Summary

God declares that the end has come upon the land of Israel. Judgment is no longer conditional or delayed. Disaster follows disaster as sword, famine, and plague consume the people. Social order collapses, wealth becomes useless, and leadership fails to provide guidance.

This chapter emphasizes that judgment is measured and deserved, not impulsive. God acts according to the people’s ways, fulfilling every warning previously given. The repeated phrase “They will know that I am the Lord” underscores the purpose of judgment: the revelation of God’s holiness and truth.

Christ-Foreshadowing

Ezekiel 7 points forward to Christ’s warnings about coming judgment and the collapse of false security. It reminds listeners that true refuge is found not in wealth or institutions, but in repentance and obedience to God.

Ezekiel 7

“The End Has Come”

Verse 1

The word of the Lord rang sharp and clear:

“Son of man, the end is here.

An end has come on the land once blessed,

Four corners shaken — no place of rest.”

Pre-Chorus

Now wrath is poured without delay,

No turning back, no more to say.

What you have done returns to you,

Measured judgment — just and true.

Chorus

The end has come, the end is near,

Disaster stacked on disaster here.

Not in anger without a cause,

But truth fulfilled — My righteous laws.

You will know when all is done:

I am the Lord, the Holy One.

Verse 2

The trumpet sounds, the call goes out,

But no one marches — fear and doubt.

The sword outside, the plague within,

Famine closes in on them.

Pre-Chorus 2

Silver thrown into the street,

Gold unable to bring relief.

What they trusted cannot save,

Riches fail them in the grave.

Chorus

The end has come, the end is near,

Disaster stacked on disaster here.

Not in anger without a cause,

But truth fulfilled — My righteous laws.

You will know when all is done:

I am the Lord, the Holy One.

Bridge

Hands grow weak, knees shake in fear,

Shame replaces pride held dear.

They seek a vision, but none will come,

No word from priest, no wisdom won.

Outro / Anchor Line

According to their ways I judged,

Their deeds returned — no scales unbalanced.

The end arrived just as I warned:

They will know I am the Lord.
