1 Corinthians 16

Paul closes the letter with practical instructions, encouragements, and final greetings.

He organizes a collection for struggling believers in Jerusalem, encouraging planned and faithful generosity. He also discusses travel plans and recognizes faithful workers in ministry.

In the middle of these practical matters, Paul gives strong exhortations: remain watchful, stand firm in the faith, be courageous, be strong, and let everything be done in love.

The letter ends with greetings from fellow believers, a warning concerning devotion to the Lord, and a blessing of grace and love.

Corinthians 16

(Verse 1)

Now concerning the collection

For the saints in need —

As I directed the churches,

So you also should do.

On the first day of every week,

Set something aside and store it up,

As God has prospered you —

So there will be no last-minute rush.

(Verse 2)

When I come,

I will send those you approve

With letters to carry your gift

To Jerusalem.

And if it seems wise for me to go also,

They will accompany me.

Be watchful.

Stand firm in the faith.

Act like men.

Be strong.

Let all that you do

Be done in love.

(Verse 3)

I will stay in Ephesus for now,

For a wide door has opened —

Though many oppose.

If Timothy comes,

See that he has nothing to fear.

He labors in the Lord’s work

As I do.

(Verse 4)

Apollos was urged to come —

But he chose another time.

Each servant walks by the Lord’s leading.

Submit to such workers —

To all who labor faithfully.

You know the household of Stephanas —

The first converts in Achaia,

Devoted to serving the saints.

Honor those who refresh your spirit.

Recognize faithful service.

The churches send their greetings.

Aquila and Prisca greet you in the Lord,

With the church in their house.

Greet one another with holy affection.

If anyone has no love for the Lord,

Let him be accursed.

Our Lord, come.

The grace of the Lord Jesus be with you.
