Empowered by God, Moses and Aaron return to Pharaoh, performing signs before him. Pharaoh’s magicians imitate some wonders, but their power cannot compare to God’s. The Nile turns to blood, beginning a series of judgments against Egypt’s gods. Still, Pharaoh hardens his heart. This chapter shows that divine confrontation exposes false powers and that hardened hearts resist truth even amid clear evidence. God’s sovereignty over creation and nations becomes unmistakable—His word will stand whether people yield or not.
