Mark 5 presents three powerful accounts of restoration that reveal Jesus’ complete authority over spiritual oppression, chronic suffering, and even death. The deliverance of the demon-possessed man shows that no level of bondage is beyond Christ’s command. Though the community fears the cost of transformation, Jesus sends the restored man as a witness to God’s mercy.
The healing of the woman with the issue of blood highlights faith that reaches out despite fear, shame, and exclusion. Jesus not only heals her body but restores her dignity by calling her “daughter.” The raising of Jairus’ daughter completes the chapter with a declaration that death itself submits to Jesus’ authority.
Together, these moments show that Jesus restores the whole person — mind, body, community, and life itself.
Mark 5 foreshadows Christ as the conqueror of the grave and the restorer of the outcast. The man among the tombs anticipates humanity’s bondage to sin and death, while the woman’s healing points forward to salvation received by faith alone. Jairus’ daughter prefigures resurrection life, ultimately fulfilled through Christ’s own victory over death.

Full Song Lyrics
Verse 1 — Among the Tombs
Across the sea to a foreign land
Where broken cries defy command
Among the graves a man undone
Bound by chains that never won
Night and day his torment roared
No one could tame what he endured
He sees Jesus from far away
Falls to his knees — afraid to stay
Chorus — What Is Your Name?
“What have You come to do with me?”
The demons shake, they recognize
“What is your name?” the question stands
Darkness exposed by holy light
Verse 2 — Legion Released
“My name is Legion,” the voices cry
“We are many,” the truth replies
They beg for mercy, plead to stay
Not cast away, not sent astray
Into the pigs the spirits flee
The herd runs wild, then into the sea
The man now clothed, in his right mind
Grace leaves destruction far behind
Chorus — Set Free
Chains are broken, torment gone
Mercy speaks where fear once won
What no one healed, His word restored
A life reclaimed by the Lord
Verse 3 — Sent to Tell
The people fear what grace has done
They ask Jesus to move on
But the man once lost now stands restored
Begging to follow his Deliverer Lord
“Go tell your home, your people there
What God has done — His mercy declared”
From darkness freed, a witness born
Grace goes out where hope was torn
Verse 4 — A Desperate Touch
Back through the crowd, pressed tight with need
A woman weak, twelve years she’s bled
She reaches out with trembling hand
“If I touch Him… I’ll stand”
Power moves, her body knows
The flow is healed, the sickness goes
Jesus stops, the moment still
“Who touched Me?” — faith fulfilled
Bridge — Daughter, Not Outcast
Fear floods in, she falls in shame
But He calls her by a new name
“Daughter, your faith has made you whole
Go in peace,” He restores her soul
Verse 5 — Do Not Fear
A message comes — “Your child is gone”
But Jesus says, “The work goes on
Do not fear — just trust My word”
At the house, the mourners stir
He takes her hand, speaks life aloud
“Little girl, arise” — the grave disallowed
Twelve years old, she breathes once more
Death retreats at the Lord’s command
Final Chorus — Nothing Beyond His Reach
No chain too strong, no wound too deep
No grave too sealed for Him to speak
From shame to life, from fear to peace
Nothing beyond His reach
Outro
Where Jesus steps, the dead awake
And every bound heart learns to break
