What’s Happening
Paul urges Timothy to pass truth to faithful leaders. He uses three images — soldier, athlete, farmer — to describe endurance and discipline. He warns against false teaching (Hymenaeus and Philetus), calls for right handling of Scripture, and emphasizes gentleness in correction.

🎶 “Endure Like a Soldier”
2 Timothy 2
Verse 1
Be strong in grace that’s found in Christ,
Not in applause or sacrifice.
What you have heard in witness clear,
Entrust to faithful hearts sincere.
Not to drift or chase acclaim,
But guard the truth and teach the same.
Pre-Chorus
This path is narrow, firm, and long —
Endurance makes the weak one strong.
Chorus
Endure like a soldier in holy fight,
Not tangled up in civilian life.
Run like an athlete by the rule,
No shortcut road, no prideful tool.
Labor like a farmer in patient field —
The harvest comes to those who yield.
If we endure, with Him we reign —
Through cross and loss, through fire and pain.
Verse 2
Remember Jesus, raised from death,
Descended from King David’s breath.
For this good news I wear these chains,
Yet God’s own Word remains unchained.
I bear these trials for chosen ones,
That they may see what Christ has done.
Bridge
If we died with Him, we live;
If we endure, a crown He’ll give.
If we deny, He will deny —
Yet faithful still when we are dry.
Avoid the quarrels empty and loud,
They ruin faith, they stir the proud.
Rightly handle truth’s clear blade,
Do not let sacred lines be swayed.
Final Chorus
Flee the passions of younger days,
Pursue pure heart in steady ways.
The Lord’s servant must not fight
With anger’s flame, but gentle might.
Correct with patience, hope for grace —
God may grant repentance’s place.
Escape the snare, come back to light —
Stand firm, endure the fight.
