2 Timothy 1
Verse 1
Paul, by promise of life in Christ,
Writing in chains where hope is priced.
To Timothy, beloved and true,
Grace and mercy now to you.
I thank my God as night falls slow,
Remembering tears from long ago.
The faith that lived in your family line
Still burns in you — a sacred sign.
Pre-Chorus
So stir the embers heaven gave,
Do not let holy fire fade.
Chorus
Be unashamed of the gospel’s name,
Though prisons rise and friends walk away.
God gave power, love, and a steady mind —
Not fear that leaves the truth behind.
Share in suffering, stand your ground,
Where grace before all time was found.
Guard the treasure, hold it tight —
Christ has conquered death and night.
Verse 2
Before the ages, mercy planned,
Now revealed by wounded hands.
Life and immortality brought to light
Through resurrection’s breaking night.
For this I suffer — yet I stand,
For I know the One who holds my hand.
He is able to guard what I have laid
Until that final Day displayed.
Bridge
Hold fast the pattern you have heard,
Faith and love shaped by the Word.
Guard the good deposit true,
By the Spirit living in you.
Though some have turned and walked away,
The Lord remains — He does not sway.
Onesiphorus refreshed my chain,
Faith still blooms in suffering’s rain.
Final Chorus
Be unashamed till skies are torn,
Till death gives way to endless morn.
Stand in grace, endure the flame,
Carry boldly Jesus’ name.
Guard the gift, complete the race —
Unashamed by sovereign grace.
