David gathers Israel to bring the ark of the covenant to Jerusalem, but the first attempt ends in tragedy when Uzzah touches the ark and dies, revealing God’s holiness and the necessity of obedience. David becomes fearful and leaves the ark in Obed-Edom’s house, where God pours out blessing. Encouraged, David brings the ark properly the second time with Levites carrying it, sacrifices offered, and worship overflowing. David dances before the Lord with wholehearted humility, while Michal despises him for lowering himself in worship. David defends true worship, and the ark enters Jerusalem—the center of God’s presence among His people.
Foreshadowing of Christ: The ark entering Jerusalem foreshadows Christ, the true presence of God dwelling among His people with both holiness and grace.
