Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon rises to dominance. Jehoiakim rebels and is judged; his son Jehoiachin reigns briefly before surrendering to Babylon. Jerusalem’s treasures are taken, and many leaders, craftsmen, and warriors are exiled. Zedekiah becomes king but follows evil ways and rebels as well. Judah’s collapse begins accelerating as God’s warnings move toward fulfillment.
Christ-Foreshadowing: The exile highlights the world’s need for Christ—the One who rescues us from spiritual captivity and brings restoration.
