Young Josiah becomes king and seeks the Lord wholeheartedly. During temple repairs, the Book of the Law is found. When Josiah hears its words, he tears his clothes and seeks God, realizing how far Judah has fallen. The prophetess Huldah announces judgment but also promises that Josiah will not see the coming disaster because his heart was humble. Josiah initiates sweeping reforms, preparing the way for the next chapter.
Christ-Foreshadowing: Josiah’s response to God’s Word foreshadows Christ, who perfectly fulfills the Law and brings renewal to God’s people.
