Manasseh becomes king and leads Judah into unprecedented evil—rebuilding high places, worshiping stars, practicing sorcery, shedding innocent blood, and even placing idols in God’s temple. His son Amon follows the same path. Because of such deep corruption, God declares that Judah will face disaster similar to Israel’s fall. This chapter shows how one leader’s influence can plunge a nation into darkness.
Christ-Foreshadowing: The depth of Judah’s sin under Manasseh highlights humanity’s desperate need for Christ, whose righteousness can cleanse even the darkest rebellion.
