Manasseh begins as Judah’s most wicked king—building altars to idols, practicing sorcery, and defiling the temple. God sends judgment through the Assyrians, who take Manasseh captive with hooks. In distress, Manasseh humbles himself and prays. God forgives him and restores him to Jerusalem, and Manasseh removes idols and repairs God’s altar. His son Amon, however, returns to wickedness and is assassinated.
Christ-Foreshadowing: Manasseh’s radical forgiveness foreshadows Christ’s mercy—no sinner is beyond His reach when they truly repent.
